For the Glampsite

Do you have power?
Yes, we have solar power to run our lights, fridge and fan. However, as you can imagine (especially in winter) this can run out. We do have a back up generator, but please be judicious with your power usage - turn off lights when out and don’t leave the fan on all night (as we also need the power to flush the toilet!) DO NOT USE YOUR HAIR DRYER.
Do you have phone reception and WIFI?
Whilst we do not yet have WIFI, you can get mobile reception at the glampsite.
Do you have a fridge?
Yes we have a small bar fridge to store your cooler items.
Do you have heating in winter?
Yes, we have an ethanol burning fireplace in our tent which heats the tent to a cosy temperature. However, it will not last all night! We suggest turning it off when you go to bed, and turning it on first thing in the morning when you wake up. If you do run out, we can provide extra ethanol for a small fee. Keep in mind, although it’s glamourous, this is still camping - there is an outdoor bathroom and kitchen.
Can we cook there?
Of course! We have a BBQ and a gas hob. There is no oven.
Can we smoke there?
No thank you! This is a smoke free glampsite. To keep the linens and decor at a premium quality for all our guests we also ask that you don’t vape inside.
Can I bring my dog?
No sorry. No pets please.
How many guests can stay?
Maximum of four adults can stay in total.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
We offer two luxury queen sized beds located at opposite ends of the main tent. There is a room divider between the master four poster bed and the living room, but please be aware that this space is essentially one large open plan room.
Is Orchard Valley child friendly?
We have a policy of guests being 13 years old or older. Please note there is a pond in the near vicinity that you need to be mindful of.
How private is the site?
Orchard Valley overlooks a kiwifruit orchard. There are plantings and young trees between the main house and the glampsite, but until they mature you can still see the main house in the distance. Bear in mind Orchard Valley is a working farm and orchard and therefore there will still be what we consider a normal amount of farm noises off and on during the day.
Are there any safety considerations?
Yes, there is a pond. Please no swimming in the pond.
Is frost protection used in the neighbouring orchard?
Bookings from the end of August through to early October have a small chance of disruption by the use of a frost protection fan. Noise levels may be 45-55dB in the tent (approximately the level of an electric fan or a quiet street), ear plugs are provided. Guests will be notified in advance if the weather forecast suggests a frost, any concerned guests are welcome to postpone their stay or cancel for a full refund.

For Getting Here

Can I drive my car down to the glampsite?
Yes. Please drive slowly and keep below a speed limit of 10km/ph when you enter the driveway. Please also be careful of the free-range ducks and ducklings as they can sometimes wander across the drive.
Can I park at the glampsite?
Yes. There is room for two vehicles.
Will I be given directions?
On confirmation of your booking, we will send you further details with directions, contact details and instructions for your arrival.
